As our weekend wrapped up, we were treated to this beautiful combination of sundown, clouds, and the moon…
Oh, that and our sprinklers turned on for the first time this evening and Augie…Continue Reading
Celebrating Strasburg, Colorado, a small, friendly town in the plains east of Denver...
Astronaut Augie had his first launch on Memorial Day. Sadly, due to choosing an over-ambitious vehicle (it could fly as much as 1,100 feet) and a badly placed sun, we do not know where it landed… ๐
However, as rocket scientists Augie and I have learned from our mistakes and next time our rocket will be limited to 350 feet…Continue Reading
Today, after breakfast, Augie and I got a few bird feeders, and with mom (who already had one for hummingbirds) we made our backyard more friendly to the winged creatures:
Augie chose the barn. ๐
Hope to see lots of hungry birds soon!
How is your Memorial Day weekend going. For a quick idea of what ours has been like, here is our weekend (so far) in pictures…
First, Friday night dinner at a great pizza place…
Father/son breakfast at The Patio Cafe…
I could probably live off pizza…well, if I was willing to be 500 pounds. ๐
Not only could I live off pizza, I’ve worked for a pizza restaurant (delivery)ย and a good friend of mine back in New Hampshire owns a pizzeria. I know good pizza and I know bad pizza…
And The Pizza Shop has great pizza!
What makes it more incredible that I can say that is I am more of a thick crust type (“pan pizza”) and The Pizza Shop pizzas have a thin crust…but…well…mmm… ๐

Of course, it seems unfair that, while on a call for work, I have to see someone having fun with a remote control airplane. ๐
Work in or around Strasburg? What is the strangest or coolest thing you’ve seen out of the window at work?

Being a fan of puns, I was think of titling this “A Tail of Two Dogs”…but after my horrible “remiss” versus “amiss” in yesterday’s post…I figured…maybe not. ๐
Meet Gloria and Bear:
Can you guess which is which…and which one is 13 years old and which is just a few months? ๐
Between work, buying a house, and moving into the house I never officially announced the Strasburg Rocks! weather station and weather webcam. You can check them out via the links on our Weather, Conditions, & Webcam page.
Additionally, today we implemented free advertisements on our site (starting with a couple businesses we highly recommend). Interested in having yours show up? You can submit one here.Continue Reading
Although I have to go back to unpacking (time to brave the 7 year-old’s room), I wanted to take time to review Pauls Homes and their local representative, Ron Morse. The image you see here is the home we just moved into after closing a couple week back.
Also today Strasburg Rocks! introduces its rating system, zero to five bulls.
Before we get to the punch line (just how many bulls do Ron and Pauls Homes get?), here is our review in the form of an e-mail sent to Paul’s boss earlier today:Continue Reading
