How was everyone’s weekend? Just back from a church fall festival (in Centennial), mine was a bit of a blur…but I thought I’d report quickly on it…because…well…it is “life in Strasburg.” 🙂
Actually, this weekend kind of started on Tuesday when (to beat the rain) we cleared rocks in the back yard and built our new tent. Augie and I plan to camp out every Friday night until it gets too cold. We’ll know it is too cold the first time we go back inside. 🙂
Friday night dad was freezing, but Augie was toasty. Instead of stealing back my 0 degree sleeping bag from him, I’ve ordered a new one for this coming weekend. Even freezing, I got some interesting shortwave listening in:
Frost advisory?! This is our reaction to your frost advisory! #tentlife pic.twitter.com/mIUi9Fb0FN

As you can see from the time stamps on the tweets, I didn’t really get a full night’s sleep. 🙂
Then Augie and I went out to breakfast…heading to a far Burger King so we could go our favorite barber afterward. Instead of heading back to Strasburg, we went into Denver and visited REI…which just happened to have a Gore-Tex demo going on. (One great thing about Strasburg is being close to a city like Denver, with all its benefits.) The first picture below is of Augie just before a test to show Gore-Tex would keep him dry…the other was with gloves in ice…where he’s cringing ’cause of the hand without the glove. 🙂
It was pretty late in the afternoon when we got back…so I didn’t accomplish much else…although I got my next broadcast episode of Traditores Higher Frequency edited and fully updated one of my Internet radio stations, Countdown2.Christmas Radio. (Countdown2.Christmas Radio plays the best classic Christmas music year round…all from my personal collection. Countdown2.Christmas itself has a countdown clock to Christmas. 60 days and 5 hours as of this post, if you were wondering. :-))
Sunday meant church…and right after I helped get it set-up for our fall festival:
Then I hung out at a Del Taco in Aurora because it didn’t make sense to go back and forth from home.
Heading back to church…I was in two skits, one where I played a policeman, and the second where I was this guy:
Whether I make a good…you know who…I think Augie makes a great cowboy sheriff, don’t you? 🙂
Now we are home…and I’m ready to crash…
How about you?
