Strasburg to Bennett Bicycle Ride Time Warp (15x)

July 28, 2019 by Alan Leave a Comment

Thumbs up for McDonald's!A week+ ago, my body was tortured into better shape by camping six days with Bennett Boy Scout Troop 30, so I am trying to keep my exercise up so as not to lose it. On Monday I rode back-and-forth from the General Store in Byers…and today it was McDonald’s in Bennett. This is a 15x Time Warp video from my GoPro HERO7 Black.

Perfect day…except…the wind was horrible, especially on the way out. I had to downshift for even downhill grades. Ugh. πŸ™‚

But, McDonald’s French Fries make up for almost anything. πŸ™‚

Inaugural Chewie Bicycle Cam

July 26, 2019 by Alan 2 Comments

Yesterday, our Lucky Dog bicycle pet bicycle trailer arrived, and although it was late by the time I got home and had dinner, I had to try it out.

You are rewarded, however, by being able to watch the Inaugural Chewie Bicycle Cam!:

Please zoom to 6 minutes in, because initially Chewie tried to climb out…so it isn’t until then I opened up the trailer so you can see him in all his glory and happiness. πŸ™‚

I was very impressed about how easy the carrier was to assemble, how sturdy it is, and its features (e.g. it can also be used as a walker). It’s also inexpensive.

If you are interested in the trailer:

  • Amazon (how we purchased it): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DJBGA0Q/
  • Directly from Discount Ramps: https://www.discountramps.com/dog-trailer/p/PT-10201/

Finally, a shout out to LIVE4 GoPro, which allowed me to stream this live on the Strasburg Rocks! Facebook last night.

July 23, 2019 Time Lapse Video

July 23, 2019 by Alan Leave a Comment

As I continue to try out the features of my GoPro HERO7 Black, here is an example of a Time Lapse Video (.5 seconds between images and 30 FPS). It was a very calm night…with stationary clouds. If you are able to watch it at full resolution, it’ll be 4K:

It’s worth viewing full screen as long as your bandwidth allows you to see HD+.

Later this week I figure I’ll try again, using Time Lapse Photos instead (allowing more control: e.g. locking the exposure so it gets darker at the end).

In either case, a beautiful, serene sunset in our awesome little town. πŸ™‚

P.S. Music from Bensound (“Summer”).

A Few More Summer Bicycle Rides

July 13, 2019 by Alan Leave a Comment

Video snapshotI’ll be away for a week at Boy Scout camp with Augie, so here are the last few bicycle rides before we leave tomorrow.

Today (when it was greater than 95ΒΊ when I left):

Beautiful day…and the ride wasn’t bad. Low humidity rules! πŸ™‚

This was Tuesday’s ride in two parts (out to the Strasburg Convenience Store and back).Β  The “back” is in the dark. It’s not 100% clear, but you can see a cool light that makes a rider safer by putting a green LED bicycle image in front on the road.

Now, the best video from my GoPro HERO7 Black (at this point) is the GoPro Time Warp Bicycle Ride. If you are someone thinking about moving our way, you’ll see most of downtown Strasburg at the equivalent of 50 MPH. πŸ™‚

GoPro Time Warp Bicycle Ride

July 6, 2019 by Alan Leave a Comment

On a bicycle rideIndependence Day brought you a GoPro Time Warp scooter video. Today rewards you with a bicycle ride! πŸ™‚

Again at 5x speed…see a ton of downtown in less than 10 minutes. It’s like zooming through streets at 50 MPH, but without the carnage. πŸ™‚

Music from Bensound.

GoPro Time Warp Scooter Video

July 4, 2019 by Alan Leave a Comment

Augie on scooterEver wondered what it would be like to scooter from the Strasburg Convenience Store to a home in Coyote Ridge? Of course you have! πŸ™‚

Well, here you go:

If you are curious as to why the video rocks up and down…well, we are riding Rockboard scooters, which are propelled by rocking. (Sadly, the company appears to be out of business.)

Big thanks to Bensound for the free background music!
