How is your Memorial Day weekend going. For a quick idea of what ours has been like, here is our weekend (so far) in pictures…
First, Friday night dinner at a great pizza place…
Father/son breakfast at The Patio Cafe…
Where Augie enjoyed this:
Yes, Augie really likes ketchup. 🙂
Now…that isn’t all we did Friday through Saturday…but let’s move on to Sunday…
We had to be at church early because we were bringing donuts (Dunkin’ Donuts of course!) and they want them before Bible study. However, that meant we then had time to head over to Burger King and enjoy the best breakfast hash browns out there…
No, there is no Burger King in (or near) Strasburg…but we found a church family before we moved here, and still attend the Smoky Hill Baptist Church…where, it just so happens (because the pastor was on vacation) I preached today…
It’s not there yet, but if you want to hear the sermon (or read its sermon notes), please visit Traditores.
Now, just after we left church, this was a shot from our weather webcam…
Combined with a flash flood warning (or was it watch?) we figured the afternoon wasn’t going to offer much outside time. However, that gave Augie and me ample time to build this…
“Now wait,” you may say. “Those skies look nice!”
And, sure enough, things cleared up…leading to a combo dog walk (for Bear and Gloria and dad and mom respectively) and scooter ride (for Augie)…
But, that wasn’t enough scootering for Augie…so dad and he rode their scooters to the local convenience store (the rocket launcher needed a nine volt battery). However, a push pop (is that what you call the ice cream version of that?) called out his name…
And sure…I tried to get him to wash his face…but the folks we met on the way back didn’t seem to mind his multi-colored cheeks. 🙂
I have not gotten near what I wanted to done today (e.g. I like putting up the sermon audio and notes the same day I preach it…and I wanted to get some “work work” time in), but I feel like I accomplished the right things today. What do you think? 🙂
And now you’ve seen a decent portion of my weekend (so far). What have you been up to?
